# Brocade

[Brocade](/content/glossary/brocade/index.html) is a heavy, exquisite [jacquard](/content/glossary/jacquard/index.html)-type fabric with an all-over raised pattern or floral design (mostly with golden or metallic thread). Common end-uses include such formal applications as upholstery, draperies, and evening-wear.
