# Botany Wool

[Botany Wool](/content/glossary/botany-wool/index.html) is a term applied to tops, yarns, and fabrics made from [merino wool](/content/glossary/merino-wool/index.html), which at the beginning were originally from Botany Bay in Australia (from which was taken the name).
